Date: 25/05/2010

Robert Wiseman Dairies is looking to grow its links with Scottish tourism and catering companies through a £20,000 yearly partnership with charitable organisation the Hospitality Industry Trust (HIT) Scotland.

As part of the deal, which could last three years, HIT Scotland will recognise Wiseman’s as a full corporate sponsor. The company will have a presence at HIT Scotland events throughout the year and promoted on marketing activities by the charity.

Part of the donation will go towards a bursary fund used to aid students who face financial hardship and to broaden their horizons. The rest will be used to support the charity’s emerging talent scholarships. This programme places potential leaders already working in the industry on world class leaning experiences at home and abroad and enrols scholars on internationally renowned training programmes.

Sandy Wilkie, Wiseman Sales and marketing director, said, “We are delighted to be further involved with such a worthwhile organisation as HIT Scotland. We have supported the industry dinner for a number of years and we felt the time is right to enhance our support. ”

David Cochrane, Chief Executive of the HIT Scotland, added, “Producers are important to the success of Scottish hospitality. Provenance, green miles and sustainability are marks of quality. Activities such as the new Wiseman ‘Milk from Scotland’ labels show they understand why local produce is important and helps to support the hospitality sector’s  green credentials.”
